Fun in July

This has been one busy summer! Of course we have the 4th of July and that was...interesting. Maya did great actually. I thought she would freak out with all the noise but she didn't cry once! We went to my sister Trisha's house and they had some friends over for swimming first. Once it started to get dark we busted out the fireworks, and yes, most were very loud and shrieking. Maya's only requirement was she had to see the source of the noise. If she had her back turned, she would squirm. If she faced them, she didn't move. I don't even think she blinked for an entire hour. Either way, she did great! I have a couple pics on my phone and yes, too lazy to download but I do have some on my camera. :)

The reason why the 4th of July was interesting was because of poor Paris. Just as we were about to get out the fireworks, he was playing with my nephew, Gus, who had a b-ball bat (a kids' one) and decided to chuck it at Paris because Paris didn't want to play anymore. Lo and behold it his him just above the eye splitting it open. He was bleeding and it looked like he would need stitches. Ben drove to the store for some butterfly bandaids and super glue. The glue did the trick. Ya he was in a little bit of pain, but his eye didn't look bad. Good thing he's dark; it helped cover his black eye the next day!

Last weekend Paris went to NorCal for some motorcycle races with the guys in his family. They all trailered their bikes and had a blast for 4 days. He has picks on his own camera, so sorry, none to show on this post. :) I only have the important pics.. like the ones of Maya and I when we went to SoCal during that same weekend. My friend, Jen, invited me to go to her parents' in Irvine. We went to Huntington beach on Saturday and Monday to Disneyland! We got in for free because she used to work there. Her mom came with us to watch the babies while we did some of our rides and it worked great! We thought the babies (her baby is 2 days older than Maya) would last 2 hours or so...WRONG! We stayed for 9 hours!!! They were so awesome. We fed them when they got hungry and changed diapers and that was it. They were troopers! They also rode: Little Mermaid, Winnie the Pooh, It's a Small World, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Maya loved them... even Pirates! There were 2 drops and ya it scared her a bit but she survived. :) My little girl will be 5 months in 3 days. How big she's gotten and so fast! She is so cute and I love spending time with her. :)

  1. I think the best time to take kids to Disneyland is when they are babies. We've taken all three of our kids as babies, and all they did was eat and sleep. What a fun trip for you guys!
